Projec Short Description :
The United States Department of Health and Human Services (US DHHS) and the USA panel of the International AIDS Society (IAS_USA) recommended three tests comprising CD4 count, viral load measurement, and drug resistance testing, for monitoring HIV patients in the United States, and in the developed world settings, respectively. [1 ;2]
The World Health Organization 2003, HIV patients monitoring guidelines recommended 1 CD4 count test, for monitoring HIV patients, in the developing world settings. Viral load test was added, as optional, and drug resistance survey was recommended at population level. [3]
Cost and complexity of required technologies are the major challenges to the developing to meeting the « three tests » standard. To overcome cost and complexity barriers, while upgrading standard to achieve the « three tests » in the developing world, the Biotech tropicana Systems proposed SMARThivPACK. [4]
SMARThivPACK relied on two pieces of equipments choosen for their cost effectiveness and low complexity to perform the three standard tests, in the developing world : PCR technology and ELISA technology. We term the SMARThivPACK « three tests » Combo kit and its technological support, the Life Box, designed to extend life.
Here, we propose a training program designed to be accessible to average health care workers of the developing world, in performing the three standard tests contained in the Biotech tropicana Life Box : SMARThivLAB_STAFF.
The Life Box is the first finished product developed in the Biotech tropicana Systems, ready to get out to market, to sell life. An improved version 2.0 of the Life Box is under development in the Biotech tropicana Systems : The Mobile Life Box. [5]
